Households and business in the Goulburn electorate continue to miss out on much need investment in school, hospitals, roads and services, with the news that the Berejiklian government has yet again failed to hit its 30% target for investment in regional infrastructure.
A damning report from the NSW Auditor General shows that the Liberals government lost $122m when it sold the state’s share in Snowy Hydro to the Commonwealth. How can this be allowed to happen?? It is unbelievable that the NSW government squandered $122m that could and should have been spent on schools and hospitals.
This report shows that as a condition of the sales of the poles and wires, 30% of Restart NSW funds must be spent in the regions. But the NSW Government has spent most of the money in Sydney – less than one fifth has been spent in regional NSW.
Labor is committed to every cent of the money received by NSW for its share in Snowy Hydro going back into the regions.
In the Goulburn electorate that will mean dealing with the almost $10m school maintenance backlog, supporting our hospitals and local services and building a new school at Murrumbateman.
